NKC/NUCS RULE CHANGES 3-21-12
Changes that will take
effect in the 2012 Season
1.
The entry fees for all non money hunts will go up $10.00
to cover the sanction fees that are taken out of the
Money Hunt pay backs. This way the event holder will
make the same as the money hunts.
2.
There will be one warning given for the Amateur, Open
and Doubles Pointing per event for NOT making an effort
to kick the bird out to shoot it. This will also go for
kicking a bird at the dog the gallery or anything that
will prevent the hunter from shooting the bird and
letting the dog catch the bird.
The second time at an event will result in no points for
that bird.
The third time will result in a DQ, any warnings will be
reported to the NKC office, and if a pattern of this is
reported there will be no more warnings that contestant.
The next event that they attend they will be told before
they go to the field that they will be DQ for doing this
again.
As long as you are making an effort to kick out the bird
you will be fine, but if you just send your dog in to
catch the bird this is what will happen.
3.
The Flushing Doubles will go back to 2 dogs for the 2012
season; the Honor Retrieve will be worth 2 points
instead of 10 like it was in the past. The rest of the
rules will be the same as they were. We will try this
for 1 year if we come to the finals with only a few
teams we will go back to 1 dog and not LOOK AT this
again. You will be allowed to enter your dog 2 times in
an event and the Nationals but must be with a different
dog than the first run and the second dog at the
Nationals also must be Qualified for the Nationals to
run.
4. As you know the first criteria for making the
Nationals is 4 runs. This year 1 of those runs must be
at another club. In other words you cannot qualify by
running all 4 runs a 1 club. You must travel to one
other club and run in an event. For the 2013 year you
will have to travel to at least 2 clubs out of the 4
runs. We are
doing this not only to help the clubs to have bigger
events, but also to show other contestants that you and
your dog can compete anywhere and win.
5. CALENDER YEAR CHANGE
TO
HELP OUT OUR COMPUTER PROGRAMERS AND OUR OFFICE STAFF,
OUR CALENDER YEAR WILL CHANGE THIS YEAR AND FROM NOW ON.
IT WILL RUN FROM JAN. 1 THE DEC. 31.
ALL RUNS RAN IN JAN. OF 2012 WILL GRANDFATHER IN TO THIS
YEAR. SO IF YOU RAN IN JANUARY, YOUR DOG WILL ALREADY
HAVE RUNS ON THE BOOKS FOR 2012. ALL HI POINT POINTS FOR
JANUARY WILL BE COUNTED FOR 2012 YEAR AND THE AMATEUR
DOGS AGE DATE WILL CHANGE FOR 2013. IN OTHER WORDS FOR
2013, IF YOUR DOG TURNS 3 BEFORE JAN.1 IT MUST GO TO THE
OPEN. I KNOW THAT THERE WILL BE QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS.
JUST SEND YOUR E-MAILS TO ME OR JILL AND WE WILL ANSWER
THEM.
6. Once the Handler and Judge signs his/her score after
the run, there will be no changes made to the score
sheet in the field. The field marshal or secretary will
check the sheet once the judge brings it in from the
field. If there are any errors on the sheet they will
call both the Handler and the Judge together to make the
changes.
If for some reason an error is missed on the score sheet
after 24 hours the sheet is final and cannot be changed.
7. Judges can run in an event, but if at all possible
run in the opposite division they are judging. If a club
does not have enough judges to do this, the Judge that
is running in said field should not be in the field at
least 3 runs before his or run in said field, or should
have already run in said field.
THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT YEAR HAL BROWN
